Taylor Dautaj

Hello, my name is Taylor Dautaj and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 5 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I believe that all young people, even those who struggle, are capable of create healthy and beautiful lives for themselves with the help of the caring, supportive adults around them. My goal is to provide the families that I work with the support and skills they need to help their child overcome mental health challenges.

I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which focuses on helping individuals to understand how their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors are connected to one another and changing thinking patterns which do not help my client’s live their best life. I utilize play, art, and sand tray techniques to create a warm environment in which young people feel safe to explore their emotions and practice new skills.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas (#81236) and obtained my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts. While in school, I completed specializations in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Children and Adolescents from the Aaron T. Beck Institute. I have worked in a range of therapy settings including in-home care, non-profits, and inpatient mental health hospitals. I have provided treatment to clients with many mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma reactions, behavioral challenges, sleep and toileting concerns, neurodiversity, attachment disruptions, suicidal and self-harming behaviors, and grief. These experiences have taught me that families are critical to children’s success in treatment. I look forward to partnering with you to support your family in turning a corner in your child’s life!
