I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with over 5 years of experience in the mental health field. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Ferris State University in education and a Master of Science degree in Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling/Therapy from Capella University, so I am specialized in individual, couples and family therapy. I am also trained in Gottman Level 1 marriage counseling, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and STOP domestic violence.

My professional experience includes working with our military services members and their dependents working through deployments, suicide multiple relocations, marital issues, PTSD and other issues that military families face. In addition, I have worked with families, teens and children on multiple issues such as depression, anxiety, family issues, divorce, substance abuse, anger management, grief and loss, parenting skills, domestic violence and adolescent issues.

I know that making the decision to contact a therapist can be difficult for some and my goal is to make the process as welcoming as possible. My approach to therapy is solution-focused and collaborative. You will find that sessions are more like a warm conversation in an office setting. I will create a warm, safe and understanding environment for client’s to laugh, cry or express emotion as they need to.

I believe that everyone is motivated to change given the right tools in a safe and warm comfortable environment. I tend to use cognitive behavioral therapy or solution focused therapy to help people overcome irrational and/or unhealthy thought patterns. I would love to help you overcome obstacles in your life and move forward.
