My passion is helping bring healing to people who have been through a traumatic/stressful experience. I provide practical, productive, and positive assistance for my clients to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships. There is always hope for change & healing.
My professional experience at a premier residential mental health facility, non-profit organization and private practice have prepared me to counsel children, teens, and adults focusing on issues including but not limited to abuse, adoption/foster transitions, anger, anxiety, attachment, boundaries, childhood trauma, codependency, depression, divorce, grief, interpersonal relationship building, life adjustment, relationships and peer/sibling conflict.
I am aware that no single approach is the right one for every individual, and so I have been educated and trained on a number of modalities. More commonly, I work with children using play therapy, art, and sand tray to help them overcome their emotional and behavioral struggles. I coach and educate parents to build upon families’ strengths to enhance parenting practices and behaviors. I assist struggling partners break ineffective patterns of relationships and develop valuable ones.
My education includes a Masters of Community Counseling and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator.
If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
