Jennifer Van Ness is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her background includes crisis intervention, addressing depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses, addiction, trauma focused care, life transitions, patterns that produce barriers in life, and family counseling. She has also facilitated psychoeducational groups for adolescents and adults.
Jennifer earned her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas (License 82744) and is a National Certified Counselor. She uses a wellness-based eclectic approach in counseling clients by primarily utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Jennifer believes counseling can change people’s lives for the better and can even save lives. She understands that each client is unique and deserves individualized care based on their life experiences, challenges, and goals. She strives to create a peaceful and safe environment where individuals can feel comfortable processing their feelings and needs, and working towards their goals. Jennifer realizes that for many reasons seeking therapeutic support is not always a simple choice and for some it may come naturally. She welcomes you with an open mind, empathy, and support in achieving peace and balance in your life.
