Jennifer Barry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience in providing psychotherapy to adolescents and adults in individual, couples, family, and group therapy settings. Using a strengths based approach, Jennifer focuses her treatment on the mind and body connection, recognizing that our emotional and physical health are connected therefore treating the whole person.
Jennifer attained her BA in psychology minoring in chemical dependency treatment at Ramapo College in her native state of New Jersey in 1995 and went on to earn her Master of Social Work with Certificate of Specialization in Addictions Treatment at Fordham University in New York City in 1998. She became certified in EMDR in 2003 after working extensively with victims of trauma.
Jennifer has provided individual, couples, family, and group therapy in various settings and has worked extensively in crisis intervention. She has worked as both practitioner and program manager in substance abuse and family service agencies and has provided EMDR to various individuals suffering from different kinds of traumatic experiences including first responders from 9/11 as well as military personnel returning from tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Jennifer was born and raised in Northeastern New Jersey where she first attained her LCSW in 2001. She relocated to Central Texas in late 2012 and attained LCSW licensure in the state of Texas shortly thereafter.
Jennifer has extensive knowledge and experience in the treatment of chemical dependency and trauma as well as ADHD, mood disorders and behavioral issues. She believes that all people are deserving and capable of recovery and that no one should have to suffer from the symptoms of mental illness alone.
