San Antonio Counseling and Behavioral Center (SACBC) has been in existence since 2012, I started the practice as a solo practitioner and now we over 50 clinicians that have joined our practice at five locations. We provide out-patient mental health counseling for children, adolescents and adults with behavioral problems such as ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, OCD and many more. We serve approximately seven thousand patients per month and continue to grow in order to meet the community’s needs for mental health services.
I am a native of the Rio Grande Valley and have over 25 years’ experience in the education and mental health fields. I obtained a bachelor’s degree in English and taught for approximately three years in the school setting. I later obtained a master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling and another in School Psychology. I worked in the public-school setting for approximately 13 years in various capacities. I taught first grade for 3 years, later working as a school counselor in a high school setting and finally as an educational diagnostician for several years. The majority of my experience was in special education.
I obtained a PhD in clinical psychology in 2010 and have been in private practice as a licensed therapist since 2005. I moved from McAllen, Texas to San Antonio in 2012 after my only daughter graduated from UTSA, got married and had a baby. She and I both started SACBC and have been providing outpatient therapy services ever since. SACBC is one of the largest private out-patient group practice in the city of San Antonio. Our mission is to provide quality mental health services to all who seek it and to break the stigma of seeking help.
