Amalia Martinez, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychology Resident with over 5 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Martinez has worked with individuals living with anxiety, psychosis, depression, personality problems, behavioral problems, substance abuse/dependence, and school-based concerns. Dr. Martinez utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy, a form of active therapy that is based on clinical research and demonstrates both efficacy and effectiveness for a wide range of psychological issues. Dr. Martinez also integrates multicultural perspectives in treatment to meet the unique needs of each client.
Dr. Martinez obtained her Doctorate of Philosophy in Dual Clinical and Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Alliant International University in San Diego, California. She completed her doctoral APA-accredited internship with Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital. During her graduate training, Dr. Martinez has accumulated extensive experience conducting testing and assessment with adolescents and adults who had a broad range of emotional and learning issues. Dr. Martinez has provided clinical services in both outpatient and institutional settings.
