Beatriz A. DuMars, LPC

For the last 10 years, I have treated clients with a wide range of behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges such as depression, anxiety, trichotillomania, anger problems, relationship problems, parenting issues, and academic problems. I enjoy working with young children, adolescents, and families. The treatment modalities that I employ most often are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy.

I truly believe that people can achieve happiness and fulfilment through mental and physical health. Because I have a strong passion for helping others, I strive to create strong therapeutic relationship with each of my clients. I enjoy working with people whom are motivated to change and whom make an honest effort to accomplish their goals. To facilitate change, I strive to provide a safe, trusting environment characterized by warmth, acceptance, and empathy.

I acknowledge that every person and situation are unique. I do not adhere to a rigid “one size fits all” approach. I use several evidence-based treatment modalities to guide the counseling process. I tailor interventions, goals, and objectives to fit each client’s particular behavioral, psychological, social, emotional, familial, or academic challenge.

Let me start your healing process by putting words to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I will work with you to achieve your short-term and long-term life goals. You will see that counseling is not only worthwhile but life changing.
