Amelia Garcia Isbell is passionate about counseling and considers it more of a calling than a career. She feels blessed and honored when others seek her counseling services. She always makes sure that everyone who walks through her door feels welcomed, safe, and accepted.
Amelia began her counseling career as a licensed chemical dependency counselor-intern at The Recovery Center of Cameron County, working primarily with adults. Subsequently, she worked with teenagers at the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) in San Benito, Texas. While working on her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling, she did an internship at the Rio Grande State Hospital in Harlingen, Texas, where she worked with clients with a wide array of mental health issues. After obtaining her LPC licensure, and before coming to San Antonio, Amelia worked as an LPC for ADC in McAllen, Texas.
Amelia graduated from the University of Texas-Brownsville with a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, and can provide therapy in both languages.
